007: Fifty years of Bond style arrives in Madrid

Nuevo Imparcial.- fans of the legendary secret agent created by English novelist Ian Fleming in 1952 are in luck. Madrid hosts the exhibition «Designing 007: Fifty years of Bond Style,» a multimedia experience with original gadgets, unique clothes, models, storyboards, film clips and their most iconic objects. The exhibition covers 50 years of James Bond films, especially looking at the design and style of the series and of creation behind the scenes, like music, cars, fashion technology through these five decades.

From May 8 to August 30, 2015 the Fernan Gomez-Centro Cultural de la Villa (Plaza Colón 4, Madrid) will show all the creative work behind the cinematic icon, focusing on British exuberance with the brand which is the most emblematic saga in the world.

Designing 007 in Madrid is the ultimate prelude to the premiere of the new James Bond film Spectre in November 2015. The exhibition will be the best opportunity to refresh your memory and prepare for what is yet to come.

Designing 007: Fifty years of Bond Style arrives in Madrid at the hands of Murray Blake & Associates. Its director, Rosita Blake has reaffirmed why he believes this multimedia show will be a hit with the Madrid crowd. «I had to bring him here. It has everything that Madrid has: style, fashion, glamour, class, tradition, but with a British twist. When you visit Designing 007, you can dive into the world and become part of that experience. Prestigious international figures

This unique exhibition is collaboration between the Barbican Center and EON Productions, and has been commissioned by the Barbican Centre, as well as fashion historian Bronwyn Cosgrave and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming. Ab Rogers, in charge of designing the exhibition, explained the secrets of how to dress and exhibit the elegant appearance which has been achieved to enshrine the ‘Bond look’. A multimedia presentation of the experience in Madrid today, has also included Neil McConnon, director of Barbican International Enterprises, and Meg Simmonds, director of EON Productions archives. As a complement, the film expert and writer Javier Sierra, has recounted some of the secrets that Ian Fleming used to create James Bond, and the mysterious historical connections tied to 007. To date, the world tour of Designing 007: Fifty years of Bond Style has included London, Toronto, Shanghai, Melbourne, Moscow and Rotterdam.

Some of the objects that will be present are the white tuxedo Roger Moore wore in Octopussy; Moonraker’s spacesuit; the orange bikini worn by Halle Berry in Die Another Day :the sky blue swimsuit worn by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale; the Golden Gun Scaramanga had in The Man with the Golden Gun; the steel-rimmed bowler worn by Oddjob and the prototype deadly flick-knife shoes which Rosa Klebb wore in From Russia with Love; the metal arm used by Tee-Heein in Live and Let Die and the fearsome teeth of Jaws, which first appeared in The Spy Who Loved Me.
