Canal Art Centre hosts the exhibition on the route of Hernán Cortés in Mexico

Nuevo Imparcial.- Canal Art Centre hosts the first major exhibition on the route of Hernán Cortés in Mexico until next May 3, 2015. With the name «Itinerary of Hernán Cortés» the story of the historical events that occurred ,are shown from 1519, with the arrival of the Extremadura Nobleman to the Mexican territory. It is a unique example in the world that can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday but on Monday it is closed to the public. The ticket price is 7 euros overall, 3.5 euros reduced and free for children under 6 years old, unemployed and people with disabilities. There will also be free children’s workshops for children between 3 and 12 years, in which they can build a model of an Aztec pyramid, a feather headdress like the Emperor Moctezuma or complete a travel diary with questions about history, geography or navigation.

The exhibition was developed in collaboration with the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico and the Real Academia de la Historia of Spain. Nearly 400 works can be seen which have been loaned by these institutions and 47 other national and international museums. Your goal is to try to reflect the world as it changed from that contact between civilizations. «Spain transformed America but also America transformed Spain, beginning a fruitful relationship that has allowed us to reach today sharing a common sentiment expressed in a rich common language,» said Ignacio González during the inauguration.
